THE TIME I SPENT HALF OF MY SUMMER CLOTHES BUDGET ON TUTU'S aka NOW

I didn't mean to I swear, one turned into two or three and suddenly half of the budget for Isla's summer clothes is gone and her bedroom (post following at some point. I've even taken the photos) is literally bursting with sequins and tulle. It's a problem.
No it's not.
But I'll pretend it because because I want to try and come across as at least a little bit sensible.
I'm actually dying of bit of happiness though. And this my friends, is why....

Ok so it's a biiiiiit big but who cares!? because Dylan has a matching one

Ugh Frozen. Elsa is slowly bankrupting me (note. The tutu's are absolutely not bankrupting me.
Nope, not at all.) if you want to join me in my bitterness towards Esla you can get this dress Here

Frozen! (All the heart eye emojis ever)

I think this is my favourite t-shirt in existence

Possibly one of the most wonderful outfits ever made.. So she (I) needed colours.

I basically had this dress in the 90's. Seriously considering buying embellished chopsticks for ultimate 90's babe hair.

It was around here that I realised that Isla may now own too many tutu's. Is there such a thing?
But then these ones with lace appliqué are beautiful. And technically that one is a petticoat, speaking of you can get one Here

I may have had minor palpitation when I unpacked this. It is literally a dream.

Etsy and eBay are your friends if your child has a newfound obsession with all things tulle.

More sequins and tulle Here.

No photo can do this dress justice. I want to frame it and keep it forever it is that beautiful.

And lastly....

LOOK AT IT. ITS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SPARKLY AND I WANT HER TO WEAR IT EVERY DAY BUT ALSO JEVER BECAUSE I WILL CRY LIKE A BABY IF IT GETS RUINED.

So here it is, the accidental buying of all the tulle.
I regret nothing.

OH I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASODE

Apologies for our sudden absence. The last few weeks of summer were full of days out, friends and good food and the sudden change into autumn kept us busy adjusting to our life and it's new routine.
Our summer ended with a trip to the Norfolk coast. A trip we've done several times, to stay at my cousins house by the beach.
This year we were joined by my mum, two sisters and two friends which Dylan loved. He loved spending time with the girls and would stay up long past bedtime playing with them or just sitting in their room while they talked.
As per usual the British weather was on and off, but we flirted with the sunshine and still managed a few ice creams on the beach.

Dylan developed quite an obsession for the 2p machines in the arcades, possibly his most repeated phrase of our time there was "more money please" or maybe "come on! Money machines!". It even became part of our morning routine: Breakfast, get dressed, a walk down to the arcades to play on the 2p machines while the girls got themselves ready.

This is one of those little breaks that although it's cheap and cheerful it was desperately needed and a lot of fun. Getting away from home, even for a few days and spending time with my family is something we cherish.
And the chips over there are pretty nice too.

VISITING THE QUEEN

Before starting this blog I blogged on tumblr. In fact I still use tumblr, most of the mums my age that I know, I know through tumblr.
Last year we arranged a meet up where we met other bloggers and babes, it was an amazing day on the southbank and better than that we stayed in touch and became best buds with Amy and Ella.

This year we decided to arrange another day out. Initially it seemed like it was going to be pretty huge (over twenty kids at one point) but after life intervened it ended up being cut down to four mums, six kids and a grandma.

We walked from the station to the park stopping off at Buckingham palace on the way for a quick wave to the queen who as it transpired, wasn't home.
Our picnic was a big jumble of everyone's favourites and treats that we shared between us, especially the kids. As it brightened up they started to explore the park, finding big trees, spiders and clouds and we had to spend a decent amount of time putting down our cakes to chase them to round them up and bring them back to us.
We ended up in St. James's park playing on the swings and chasing (or in my case avoiding) the ducks.
The kids had a lot of fun and so did us grown ups. It was so lovely to see them play together.

We left agreeing that we needed to arrange another meetup in the near future, and one that could hopefully involve some more of the other mums. It was a great day out for all of us and I'm so glad I got to meet the other mamas and their beautiful kids.
